Second Chance at Love His & Hers Ensemble: Pendant, Earrings and Tie Tack/Lapel Pin
Although not officially sea glass, these little baubles boast plenty of personality and an undeniable charm! During the Great Depression in the 1930s, inexpensive dinnerware was mass-produced in a variety of colors, including the lively pink shown above. Food manufacturers like Quaker Oats put pieces in their packages much like prizes in boxes of cereal. Banks and businesses used them as giveaways. Thrifty housewives could expand their collections a piece at a time for just a few cents at the local five-and-dime. However, plastic soon took over as the cheapest material of choice and glass faded into the background. Around 1960, however, Depression-era glass regained popularity as a collectible and is now so widely appreciated that a rare piece in good condition can sell for several hundred dollars. But what about the unfortunate plates, bowls and serving dishes that got dropped, shattered and swept into the garbage? Like so many bits of trash, these little shards of glass spent decades communing with nature where water, rocks and grit softened their sharp edges and created new and interesting shapes. Today, Beachcombers is happy to give these dainty bits of history a new purpose in life. In the past they may have graced the family dinner table making everyone smile. Today let them accompany you to that romantic dinner or special event. You’ll appreciate their subtle beauty even more knowing that you’ve given them a second chance to be loved. Sunset blush pink artfully wrapped in silvertone wire and bedecked with faux freshwater pearls and dazzling crystals. Set includes a pendant and earrings for her and a tie tack/lapel pin for him. Pendant is suspended from an 18″ chain with a lobster claw clasp and earrings are carefully handcrafted with hypoallergenic ear wires and secured with silicone backs. This exquisite ensemble will be delivered to you elegantly packaged in an organza jewelry pouch for gracious gift giving or for your own personal pick-me-up.
